DBI - Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani

A work in progress which collects biographies of Italians who passed away up to letter M. Some entries are still not complete and in this case replaced temporarily by versions extracted from the Treccani database, which also includes living people.
The dictionary is the biggest national biography currently available.
A massive effort which illustrates lives and works of Italians and Italianised personalities who - from the end of the Roman Empire to present days - have left a mark in the artistic, cultural, political, religious, scientific and social life of Italy.
